WJCS is excited to announce a second Parent Management Training group to be held in our Yonkers site. The group will meet weekly on Tuesdays (lunch will be served) from 12:00 PM to 1:30PM. The group will start on  April 6th through June 22nd.

This lecture covers the basics of worry in children. What are the basic patterns?  What is normal worry in a child and what is abnormal?  When should a parent or a teacher seek help for a child’s worrying? What are the diagnosable kinds of worry in children?  What are the common socially induced kinds of worry?  How does technology fit in?  What can a child do to worry less?  What can a parent or teacher do?  What is the role of professional intervention?

WJCS is once again offering its Summer Therapeutic Social Skills Group for 4- and 5-year olds on the autism spectrum. The group will focus on reciprocal play, turn taking, joint attention and following directions. Children will learn through cooperative play, circle-time games, and playtime with staff and parents. Parents will have the opportunity to meet on Mondays during group time with a clinical social worker to review the skills being taught to the children. This group will be starting on June 28th and will run through July 28th on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:15 – 5:30. The group will meet at the Autism Family Center on 845 North Broadway in White Plains.  For more information, please contact:
